Labor union claims Obamacare will cost its members up to $5 an hour

For someone who claims to want to achieve income equality, President Obama is heading in the wrong direction with his health care law. Unite Here, a labor union serving the hospitality industry, said it will cost its members up to $5 an hour in lost wages.

“Only in Washington could asking the bottom of the middle class to finance health care for the poorest families be seen as reducing inequality,” said the report from Unite Here, according to the Washington Examiner. “Without smart fixes, the ACA threatens the middle class with higher premiums, loss of hours, and a shift to part-time work and less comprehensive coverage,” said the report, titled, “The Irony of Obamacare: Making Inequality Worse.”

With this new information in mind, Townhall.com News Editor Katie Pavlich weighed in on ObamaCare with Fox Business host Stuart Varney on Monday’s edition of “Varney & Co.”

Although Pavlich agreed that Obamacare will be difficult to repeal until the president is out of office, she noted that it will be an anchor around the necks of Democrats in the midterm election.

“They act like they’re the people of the middle class,” she said of the Democrats, “when the very law they’re defending is terrible for the middle class.”
