The highlight of the Tea Party Patriots’ fifth anniversary celebration in Washington D.C. was unquestionably the Cuban longhorn, who marched into the proceedings Thursday on full “Cruz control” to deliver his usual outstanding address — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.
Earlier speakers included Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Mike Lee of Utah. But it was Cruz everyone wanted to hear from — and he didn’t disappoint.
He praised the attendees and thanked them for their support, which, in large part. led to Cruz’s election to the Senate.
“I think the tea party is the most exciting political development in decades in this country,” he said. :God Bless the tea party,”
He also asked them to continue their work and not despair of the future.
“Let me tell you right now,” Cruz said of the Affordable Care Act. “I’m absolutely convinced. We are going to repeal every single word.”
