Publicity hound Michelle Obama to hit prime time again

The most celebrity-oriented first lady, Michelle Obama, is set to make a prime-time cameo appearance on the “Parks and Recreation” season finale, NBC announced Thursday.

The episode, which was filmed late February in Miami, is scheduled to air April 24, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It comes as no surprise since, just last week, the Washington Post dubbed Obama as the “first lady of late night,” reporting that she has had at least 15 appearances on late-night shows since her husband took office in January 2009.

But that’s only the beginning. The Internet Movie Database lists 76 appearances of the first lady on various TV shows and movies, and another 30 where her video clips were featured.

In a comparison to her predecessors, The Post says they are not even close. Hillary Clinton logged one stop on the “Late Show with David Letterman” during her last year as first lady. Barbara Bush and Laura Bush each made at least one appearance on a late-night show, once their husbands were out of office. And Hollywood-connected Nancy Reagan visited “The Tonight Show” starring Johnny Carson twice, before her husband took office.
