‘Straight-shootin senior’ in NRA video kills Joe Biden’s shotgun theory

The National Rifle Association appears to have disproved every bit of advice Vice President Joe Biden gave about warding off intruders in a new video featuring a “Straight-Shootin’ Senior.”

NRA News released its latest “Special Report” with Ginny Simone Wednesday, telling the story of 72-year-old Elaine, a grandmother and widow of a career military man — and an AR-15 aficionado.

She first became concerned about self-defense when a neighbor’s house had been broken into. She realized then that there’s only so much local police can do.

“The police department is very good where I live, but it probably takes them at least 10 minutes to get to my house,” Elaine said in the video. “There’s a lot of bad stuff that can happen in 10 minutes.”

Elaine got the training she needed to properly defend herself and her home, and practices regularly with her Daniel Defense AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, which she describes as “very easy to hold.”

“I don’t think what Joe Biden said about shooting a shotgun off in the air is right,” she said, and called the notion of limiting the number of available rounds “flat out crazy.”
