In response to sweeping defense cuts proposed by the White House, John Bolton, the former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., accused President Obama of ‘consciously’ trying to weaken the United States.
When asked by Fox News host Bill O’Reilly on Tuesday if he believed Obama is actively trying to diminish the power of this nation, Bolton answered, “Yes, how else do you explain his defense budget?”
Obama’s proposed budget would reduce the size of the U.S. Army to pre-WWII levels, according to Fox News.

The assertion follows Bolton’s blistering assessment last week of Obama’s foreign policy, when he said America will pay the price for having “a weak, feckless, inattentive president.”
Bolton was asked by O’Reilly to explain why Obama would want to make us a weaker nation.
“In his view a weaker America is a less provocative America and therefore will contribute to international peace and security,” he responded. “I think it’s the opposite. I believe a weaker America invites challenge.”
