Hollywood provocateur Alec Baldwin is finished with public life.
That’s what the controversial actor told The New Yorker Magazine in an article published on Sunday.
“I haven’t changed, but public life has,” Baldwin said, getting a lot closer to the truth than he may realize.
But before he stops blessing us with his presence, he got in some parting shots at MSNBC, sparing few at the pro-Obama network from his stinging rebuke.
“It turned out to be the same shit all day long,” the actor charged. ” If MSNBC went off the air tomorrow, what difference would it make”

Claiming MSNBC President Phil Griffin “didn’t care,” Baldwin said, “All he wanted to talk about was Giants tickets, Super Bowl tickets, restaurants, movies.”
As for the talking heads at the network, he trashed Joe Scarborough, saying the host is “neither eloquent nor funny,” and his show is “boring.”
And proving that he’ll never be mistaken for a gentleman, Baldwin offered this backhanded compliment to another host:
“I think Rachel Maddow is quite good at what she does. I also think she’s a phony who doesn’t have the same passion for the truth off-camera that she seems to have on the air.”
It also looks as if New Yorkers will not have Alec Baldwin to kick around much longer, as he is considering moving back to the Left Coast.
“I probably have to move out of New York,” he confessed. “I just can’t live in New York anymore. Everything I hated about L.A. I’m beginning to crave. L.A. is a place where you live behind a gate, you get in a car, your interaction with the public is minimal.”
Oh, and Baldwin wants you to know that even though he has a habit of hurling homophobic slurs at those who displease him, he is not anti-gay.
Which pretty much sums up the entire article — Baldwin living in a world entirely of his own making, where he takes no responsibility for the calamity that follows him like a cloud of dirt follows “Peanuts” character Pig Pen.
