Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer was very concise in summing up the results of President Obama‘s stimulus package, suggesting the president has failed to stack up to some of his predecessors.
In an appearance Monday on “Special Report with Bret Baier,” Krauthammer was asked to comment on a tweet from Obama senior advisor Dan Pfeiffer targeting the GOP for criticizing the Recovery Act on its 5-year anniversary.Â
GOP attacks on the Recovery Act are a perfect example of the delusional messaging that makes them appear out of touch to so many Americans

“I think a tweet like that would appear out of touch given that the overwhelming sentiment in the country is that this is, and in fact is, the weakest recovery since the Second World War,” Krauthammer said.

Calling it “a jobless recovery,” the Pulitzer-Prize winning columnist said there were alternatives to the “monstrous stimulus” that turned out to be little more than “a gift to all kinds of democratic constituencies.”
“You could have had tax cuts and deregulation,” he offered.
Krauthammer then zinged Obama’s recovery by comparing it to the efforts of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Dwight D. “Ike” Eisenhower.
“FDR at least left behind a Hoover Dam. Ike left behind the Interstate highway system. This thing as predicted hasn’t left a trace in the sand except the ruins of the Solyndra plant,” he said.
Ouch.
