Even in liberal Minnesota, Barack Obama’s popularity has plummeted. A recent poll of 800 adults showed half disapprove of his job performance, according to the Star Tribune.
This is the first time since 2009 that fewer than half the residents in the traditional blue state gave the president a passing grade. Among men, especially, Obama sank to a 60 percent unfavorable rate, compared to 40 percent of women disapproving of his performance.
Among independents, a critical voting bloc, a whopping 62 percent disapproved of the chief executive’s performance. Not surprisingly, the president was viewed most favorably by the young, but with the Obamacare sign-up deadline looming on March 31, that could change by April.
The Minnesota poll follows a national trend of growing presidential unpopularity, as missteps continue to dog the White House. The survey contained a sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 points.
