A picture of the first couple tweeted on Valentine’s Day is complimentary of the first lady, but it doesn’t appear to have been sent by her husband.
As a matter of fact, it doesn’t even appear to be a recent picture, as former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs is standing in the background.
Here’s the truth: @MichelleObama is still the best Valentine. pic.twitter.com/Qx8T4Izxqs

Others noticed, responding:
I wonder why @BarackObama is using an old picture w/@MichelleObama for Valentine’s Day? Maybe he’s still recovering from #SelfieGate? #tcot

We’ve become accustomed to President Obama, the first lady and the White House tweeting pictures of themselves or their dogs. But one would expect a message like this to come from the president himself.
The account @BarackObama states, “This account is run by Organizing for Action staff. Tweets from the President are signed -bo.”
That didn’t go unnoticed either, according to these responses:
@BarackObama @MichelleObama that couldn’t even be a “-BO” tweet? Seriously?

@RickCanton I think it’s bigger than #selfiegate. I dont think she will be photographed with him. Notice no more “date nights.”

Let’s hope he came through with flowers and chocolates.
