Unedited: Obama takes credit for Fox’s ratings, O’Reilly zings we were fine without you

Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly aired the remaining unedited portion of his interview with President Obama from Sunday and it was interesting to hear the specific issues the president cited to show how O’Reilly has “unfairly” covered him and his administration.

Obamacare, the Internal Revenue Service scandal and Benghazi.

The relevant section about Fox News’ coverage being unfair to the president in general, and O’Reilly’s coverage in particular, begins at the 4:55-minute mark when O’Reilly asked if the president thought he has been “unfair.”

“Absolutely, of course you are, Bill. But I like you anyway Bill,” the president lied to O’Reilly.

O’Reilly pressed for specifics saying the president can’t make such an accusation without examples.

A wary Obama, using his fingers to list the ways, responded: “We just went through an interview in which you asked about healthcare not working, IRS – were we wholly corrupt? Benghazi, right? So the list of issues you talk about…”

“But these are unanswered questions,” O’Reilly interrupted.

“But they are defined by you guys in a certain way. But this is ok,” the president said.

The banter continued with O’Reilly saying criticism is one thing, being unfair is another, to which Obama responded:

Here is what I would say: I think, regardless of whether it’s fair or not, it has made Fox News very successful. And here’s what you guys are going to have to figure out – What are you going to do when I’m gone? No, man – I’ve been a big moneymaker for you.

“Our ratings were high when you weren’t here,” O’Reilly pointed out.

Immediately following that exchange, O’Reilly asked if Obama “was the most liberal president in U.S. history?”

Cue the body-language experts here because with a huge smile, twice the president nods his head “yes” while saying, “probably not.”

Richard Nixon was, he said.
