NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath created a storm on Twitter Sunday when he arrived for Super Bowl XLVIII wearing his trademark fur coat.
Broadway Joe was the center of attention, garnering both positive and negative feedback, all while nearly botching the big game coin toss.

PETA was quick to respond:
Dear @RealJoeNamath, The fur on your massive coat was meant for ANIMALS 🙁 Please consider FAUX! #SuperBowl pic.twitter.com/63TNxttgg8

PETA followers also chimed in:
“Here’s the rest of your coat,” PETA tweeted later, with a picture of a pile of skinned animals.
But not everyone was critical of the legendary football star:
One tweet may have been the best of the evening, and good advice too, based on the outcome of the game:
Forget it. Game’s over. Joe Namath’s jacket wins the Super Bowl.
