Tearjerker: Couple’s extraordinary gift of Super Bowl tickets to teen with cancer

Grab a tissue before watching this beautiful story of generosity and human compassion that is such a needed break from everyday news.

Nevada teen Kody Beach, 16, bravely battling the advanced stages of a rare form of melanoma, is attending not only his first NFL game ever, but Super Bowl XLVIII, thanks to the generosity of another Nevada cancer patient, Gary Kasden, and his wife, Megan, who won the all-expense paid trip and tickets to Sunday’s game.

Kasden recently developed pneumonia after undergoing chemotherapy and was unable to travel, so he and his wife contacted the Gene Upshaw Memorial Tahoe Forest Cancer Center seeking someone to pass their pair of tickets to.

However, much to the Kasdens’ surprise, four tickets were sent instead of the two they were to have received.

“Some angel sent two extra tickets for Kody and his family,” Kasden told CSN Bay Area.

The NFL was contacted about the “mistakenly sent” two extra tickets, and offered to pick up the cost so the entire Beach family – all football fans who never attended a game before – can attend.

A “super” blessing, indeed from, and for, some extraordinary people.

Godspeed.
