‘Best Super Bowl ad of all time’ celebrates 30-year anniversary

As the nation gears up for the onslaught of new Super Bowl commercials, it’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since one of the best of all time.

Wednesday marked the 30th anniversary of what some hail as not only the “most famous Super Bowl commercial” ever, but as one of the best commercials ever made.

Aired for the first time during the third quarter of Super Bowl XVIII, Apple’s George Orwell-like “1984” commercial, directed by sci-fi great Ridley Scott, ushered in the Macintosh computer in a way that remains unforgettable to this day.

Just like Apple’s co-founder, Steve Jobs.

On January 24th, Apple Computer will introduce Macintosh. And you’ll see why 1984 won’t be like ‘1984.’

Do you remember?
