Springsteen, Fallon parody duet: ‘Jersey Traffic Jam’ lyrics to Boss’ ‘Born to Run’

Rock legend Brice Springsteen slammed fellow New Jerseyan, Gov. Chris Christie, and his “Bridge-gate” scandal in song Tuesday.

Springsteen and “The E-Street Band” made an appearance on NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to promote their latest album, “High Hopes.” The rock stars ended up teaming with the comedian/host to do a number on the Republican governor, the Star-Ledger reported.

The number was called, “Governor Chris Christie’s Fort Lee, New Jersey Traffic Jam,” a parody of the brouhaha that erupted when it was discovered that Christie’s staffers closed lanes on the George Washington Bridge to retaliate against a decision by the Democratic mayor of Fort Lee not to endorse Christie. Performed to the tune of “Born to Run,” the song included such lyrics as, “They shut down the tollbooths of glory ’cause we didn’t endorse Chris Christie.”

Christie has made it known on numerous occasions that he’s a huge Springsteen fan. Apparently, the love is unrequited.

Watch the NBC video, then be sure to check out, Michelle Obama’s tacky birthday invitations buck protocol.
