A top presidential advisor revealed that the president “will use every tool he can” to get what he wants during the coming year of his administration, Fox News host Greta van Susteren reported on her show, “On the Record,” Tuesday.
In an email blast earlier in the day, White House senior advisor Dan Pfeiffer told supporters that President Obama will not wait for Congress to act on programs he wants to implement.
“Apparently the ‘year of action’ will be all about executive action,” van Susteren told her viewers.
Through a series of short clips, she demonstrated that Obama has threatened such action before. In the final video, recorded Tuesday, the president told reporters: “I’ve got a pen, and I’ve got a phone. And I can use that pen to sign executive orders.”
“Did President Obama miss the class on the three equal branches of government and separation of powers?” van Susteren asked.
After playing a snippet of Rush Limbaugh’s scathing commentary on Obama’s statement, van Susteren brought on former Bush advisor Karl Rove, who compared Obama’s actions with those of the previous administration.
