Disbarred attorney Lynne Stewart, convicted of aiding and abetting one of the world’s worst Islamic terrorists, was released from prison this week to a hero’s welcome after having served less than half of her 10-year sentence. Fox News host Megyn Kelly wants to know why.
While acting as an attorney for Omar Abdel-Rahman, known as the “Blind Sheik,” Stewart relayed information and instructions from her client to Egyptian jihadists, according to Fox News.
Abdel-Rahman was known as “the spiritual leader of a violent jihadist group” and “is the person who bin Laden said gave the fatwa that led to 9/11,” Kelly said. He was able to continue his activities even behind bars because of her attorney — Stewart.
Jay Sekolow, chief counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, appeared on “The Kelly File” to give the “how,” the “why” and most of all, the “who.”
And what was Selolow’s conclusion? “There’s no way she got out without Eric Holder knowing this,” he said. “It’s impossible.”
He also said that the U.S. Justice Department attorney working directly on Stewart’s behalf was highly critical of the manner in which the Bush administration waged its war on terror.
“At the end of the day, Eric Holder is responsible for this,” Sekolow said. “The Justice Department is responsible — they signed the order.”
