At some point, a reasonable person begins to conclude that President Obama has a hard time with telling the truth, or that he goes out of his way to distance himself from his extended family.
During a recent appearance on the “Laura Ingraham Show,” half brother Mark Obama Ndesandjo could not explain why Obama said they had only recently met for the first time.
Ndesandjo has stated that the two had met several times over the years.
“I was floored by it — I don’t know why he said it,” Ndesandjo told host Laura Ingraham. Unable to explain Obama’s motivation for making such a claim, he added, “I think he was being president and was not being my brother.”
The disclosure comes on the heels of the White House denying that President Obama had ever met his Kenyan uncle, Onyango Obama, who has been living in the United States illegally since the 1970s.
A denial that turned out to not to be true, as the president acknowledged last month that he lived with the uncle briefly in the 1980s while preparing to attend Harvard Law School.
When Ingraham pointed out that Obama doesn’t spend much time with his extended family, preferring the company of celebrities such as Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Ndesandjo admitted that she “had a point.”
The half-brother, who said he’s not very political, has a book coming out in February.
