One day after Iran struck a deal over its nuclear program, its foreign minister said it will continue its nuclear enrichment.
Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, had harsh words Sunday for the U.S. Government’s latest agreement with the rogue nation.
“We just rewarded very bad, dangerous behavior,” Rogers told CNN’s “State of the Union” host Candy Crowley. “Think about what this agreement does. It says you can continue to enrich, that’s what the Iranians believe, and they have made no changes – no changes – in the development of their nuclear weapon program. And I can tell you that with a high degree of certainty.”
Iran has had a hand in the deaths of soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and the violence in Syria, Rogers said, adding that a bipartisan group in Congress, America’s Arab League partners and Israel don’t like the deal.
“We may have just encouraged more violence in the future than we have stopped,” he said.
Rogers said he hopes “we reconsider where we’re at” in six months.
