Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin publicly responded for the first time on Fox News Sunday about comments made about her by MSNBC’s Martin Bashir, saying they were “vile” and “evil.”
Host Chris Wallace was almost apologetic in bringing up the subject, reminding viewers that Bashir was commenting on “fairly unobjectionable remarks” made by Palin in comparing our national debt to slavery.

Palin stood by those remarks, before offering her opinion on the pro-Obama network failing to take disciplinary action against Bashir:
“As for the networks condoning those type of statements… that’s hypocrisy, that’s a given, though, when a conservative woman says something that they take offense, they usually just kind of poo-poo it, laugh it off as no big deal.”
“I don’t have to accept his words, his vile, evil comments, they don’t have to affect me,” she added. “I move on and charge forth.”
Wallace pointed out that Bashir did apologize a few days later, saying his words where “wholly unacceptable,” and then asked Palin if she accepted his apology.
“Who am I not to accept an apology… next time they want to say such a thing and then get the attention that they were seeking after they said it, and then want to call and apologize to me in private, I’d like them to go through, say, Todd first, or one of my children,” Palin replied.
Now that’s something I’d pay to watch.
