Gov. Rick Scott met with Wakayama Governor Yoshinobu Nisaka on Thursday to discuss the Sister-State agreement between Florida and the Prefecture of Wakayama in Japan.
“I would like to thank Governor Yoshinobu Nisaka for his hospitality during our economic development mission,” Scott said in a statement released from his office. “We are excited about the strong relationship between the State of Florida and the Prefecture of Wakayama. There are already more than 200 Japanese-owned companies in Florida which account for over 20,000 Florida jobs. We look forward to creating more jobs and opportunities for Florida families through our partnership with Wakayama.”
The Sister-State relationship between Florida and Wakayama was formed in 1995, according to the statement from Scott’s office. The State of Florida and Wakayama have been committed to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding while increasing economic, trade, social and cultural developments.
