You’d never know it from the mainstream media, but the tea party and the Congressional Black Caucus do have something in common: President Obama doesn’t like either one.
That’s the latest buzz around the book “Double Down: Game Change 2012,” which chronicles the Obama re-election bid.
According to Breitbart.com, the book shows that Obama’s intramural feuds with old guard “civil rights leaders” like Jesse Jackson, liberalism’s intellectual lights like Cornell West, and the Democrats who make up the Congressional Black Caucus bother the narcissist in the White House as much tangles with the Tea Party Caucus in the House.
“Obama had little patience for the ‘professional left,’ and vanishingly close to zero for what one of his senior African American aides, Michael Strautmanis, referred to as ‘professional blacks’ (as opposed to black professionals),” the book states. “Apart from Georgia congressman John Lewis and Jim Clyburn of South Carolina, Obama had nearly as much contempt for the CBC as he did for the Tea Party Caucus.”

“New York’s Charlie Rangel he derided as a hack; Jesse Jackson Sr. was effectively banned from the White House,” the book states.
That’s not that hard to believe. To an administration rife with world-class cronyism, billion-dollar corruption, and all-out efforts to “transform” the country into Sweden with Mexican immigrants, the CBC and its garden-variety salad of union corruption and liberal statism is pretty small potatoes.
The Tea Party Caucus is too white, too Republican, too straight for the Obama White House. The black caucus isn’t crooked enough.
Compared to a half-billion swindle like Solyndra (remember that?) and the Obamacare takeover of one-sixth of the American economy, Rangel and Jackson look plain petty. Rangel’s small-time “hack” antics — tax evasion with his rental properties in the Dominican Republic and the like – Jackson’s shakedowns of corporate America on trumped up racism charges, are just too old hat for the new New Left of Barack Obama.
What’s truly odd about all this is that the tea party – best known for not only being conservative but also for cleaning up the trash at its demonstrations (imagine that) — has been the target of open hatred from the mainstream media for four years. The Congressional Black Caucus, with a record that ranges from the shenanigans of old guarders Rangel and equally crooked Young Turks like Jesse Jackson Jr., has gotten media veneration for 40 years.
Obama has contempt for the black caucus? The media has contempt for the tea party.
Sometimes the media makes Obama look smart without even trying.
