Rep. Gowdy: President lied again, going for a Nobel Prize in fiction

The House Oversight Committee has released bombshell Obamacare documents that show the administration knew signing up with paper applications was no more efficient than using the defective website, Fox News’ Megyn Kelly said Monday.

The memo, by Center for Consumer Information/Insurance Oversight Memo and released by CMS.gov, said:

“The paper applications allow people to feel like they are moving forward in the process. At the end of the day we’re all stuck in the same queue because all those applications have to go through the same website.”

After Kelly played video of White House press secretary Jay Carney’s contentious grilling over the issue, her guest, U.S. Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., blasted the administration’s response.

“It’s a façade,” Gowdy said. “It’s one of several façades. The president already has a Nobel Prize for peace, I think he’s shooting for one in fiction.”

The administration is trying to create the appearance that everything is going well, when it knows otherwise, Gowdy said.

“Why can’t there be honesty?” Kelly asked. “Why can’t he just come out and say, ‘I didn’t tell you the truth,’ or ‘I broke a promise.’”

Gowdy said he can’t understand why politicians can’t admit it when they make a mistake.

“Congress doesn’t enjoy a very good approval rating, but nobody in government does,” he said. “Part of the reason for that is, instead of saying we made a mistake, even we made an intentional misstatement, we need you to forgive us, the response is to evade and answer questions falsely.”
