‘I’m not African’: Hollywood A-listers on politically correct madness

Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman shared his thoughts Friday on the pervasiveness of political correctness in America noting how the label African American has been thrust on him.

Hallmark Deck the Halls ornamentWhile promoting their new movie Friday on NBC’s “Today,” the Hollywood A-list cast of “Last Vegas” opined on the politically correct world gone mad when discussing the new Christmas holiday ornament from Hallmark that has changed the famous lyrics of the classic song “Deck the Halls” to say, “Don we now our fun apparel” – omitting the actual word “gay.”

“We have a tendency to do that in a way,” Freeman said. “I mean, you get politically correct stuff happening … I all of a sudden became an African. Political correctness. African-American. I’m not African.”

Kevin Kline Michael DouglasActor Kevin Kline also commented on the absurdity of Hallmark’s new politically correct Christmas holiday ornament: He “had buried his face in his hands [and] scowled: “It … doesn’t deserve a comment! It’s so bizarre. Stupid.”

Italian American Robert De Niro was also asked for his opinion and he said he thinks political correctness has gone “a little far.” “It’s fun to go against that when you can because I think it’s a little abusrd.”

No, it’s a lot absurd.
