White House visitor logs have become the latest victim of President Obama‘s ongoing effort to inflict as much pain as possible on the American people due to the government shutdown.
Online access to the visitor logs, started in Dec. 2009 as part of Obama’s “commitment to government transparency,” has been halted, Daily Caller reported.
Users are greeted with this now familiar message when accessing the index page for the visitor logs:
“Due to Congress’s failure to pass legislation to fund the government, the information on this web site may not be up to date. Some submissions may not be processed, and we may not be able to respond to your inquiries.”
“This dataset is currently private,” says the exact location on the page where the visitor logs used to be.
As for transparency, the budget standoff with Congress has made it crystal clear just how spiteful the Obama administration can be.
The visitor logs were in the news in another breaking story this week involving the top IRS official in charge of Obamacare, Sarah Hall Ingram, who may have released confidential taxpayer information to the White House.
Ingram made 155 visits to the White House to meet with a top Obama White House official with whom she is said to have exchanged confidential taxpayer information over email, according to Daily Caller.
Details of these meetings were included in the visitor logs taken down by the White House.
Ingram headed the scandal-plagued IRS office that oversaw tax-exempt organizations between 2009 and 2012, which is when conservative groups were being targeted. She then left to take over the IRS office in charge of Obamacare implementation.
