Fox News kingpin Bill O’Reilly appeared on CBS’ “60 Minutes” Sunday night to peddle his latest book, “Killing Jesus.” As bold and fresh as ever, O’Reilly said the inspiration to write the book came from the Holy Spirit, suggesting that he was “directed” to write it.
Following up on the smash success of his last two books, “Killing Lincoln” and “Killing Kennedy,” which sold over 5 million copies, the host of the number one rated cable news show said his new book is not a religious book, but all about history — at times, he even contradicts the Bible.
Interviewer Norah O’Donnell noted that O’Reilly, who called himself a “regular guy,” makes $20 million a year and confronted him about a claim that he did not drive a Mercedes Benz, saying his wife does.
“That’s her,” O’Reilly responded. “That’s not me.”
The interview delves into O’Reilly’s media empire and how he prepares for “The O’Reilly Factor,” and even goes back to his days as a child in school, where he “got into trouble almost every day.”
“Ain’t America great,” he said with a chuckle. “I was a little thug, and now I’m being paid millions of dollars for being a big thug.”
