CAIR releases ‘Islamophobia Report’: See who made the list

Almost every commentator and news organization the public considers even marginally conservative or holding traditional values was blasted as being anti-Islamic in a 149-page report released Thursday.

cairTaking a cue from Democrats and the mainstream media that if you’re critical of the president’s policies you must be a racist, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, known as CAIR, released a report Thursday calling its own critics, both real and imagined, “Islamophobes.”

If there’s any surprise in the report, it’s not that CAIR is making the accusation. The organization is known for its hypersensitivity and makes similar claims at the slightest provocation. The shocker in this case is how wides it cast its Islamophobic net.

The anti-Islamic outlets CAIR names include:  Fox News, The Washington Times, The Rush Limbaugh Show, The Mark Levin Show, National Review, Christian Broadcasting Network, Family Security Matters and the American Center for Law and Justice.

They’re among 32 groups CAIR listed as members of “Islamophobia network’s outer core,” comprised of “[g]roups or individuals whose primary purpose does not appear to include promoting prejudice against or hatred of Islam and Muslims but whose work regularly demonstrates or supports Islamophobic themes.”

The CAIR report named an additional 37 groups it calls “inner core” organizations, “whose primary purpose is to promote prejudice against or hatred of Islam and Muslims and whose work regularly demonstrates Islamophobic themes.”

The organizations listed in the CAIR report are only examples as a reporter from The Daily Caller discovered and reported.

CAIR held a news conference on the report –“Legislating Fear: Islamophobia and its Impact in the United States 2011-2012” — Thursday morning.

While The Daily Caller was absent from CAIR’s list of Islamophobic news outlets, CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper prevented TheDC from attending the press conference Thursday — showing TheDC to the door — for being a “hate” group and not “legitimate.”

“You’re credentialed with a hate site,” Hooper told the reporter. When he indicated that The Daily Caller isn’t listed in CAIR’s Islamophobe report, Hooper replied, “you’re not in our news conference either.”

CAIR named individuals and organizations in its report that it felt were “at the center of promoting Islamophobia in America” in the years 2011 and 2012, the period covered by its report.
