The Gainesville, Fla., police department has Twitter buzzing over provocative tweets that ask men and women to “step in and make a difference” if they see a drunk woman being taken advantage of at a party.
The tweets include attention grabbing messages, along with two videos — one depicts a male intervening on behalf of an intoxicated young woman, the other shows two females stepping in to help.
One of the messages in the colorful social media campaign about alcohol-related sexual assault warns guys, “Don’t be a D-Bag,” as Twitchy reported.
Another sparked criticism as some took it to mean the police department was endorsing prison rape:
Guys: think sex with a girl too drunk to say NO is ok? There are lots of big guys in jail that would love to meet U. http://t.co/fqXJK6LoLv

Attn GUYS: Partying tonight? If she can’t SAY a willing YES then it’s a NO. Don’t be a D-bag. You’ll ruin 2 lives. http://t.co/UjnketSYJ2 — Gainesville Police (@GainesvillePD) September 13, 2013
Being this guy –>http://t.co/uh7l9E010f is much more appealing to women than being an idiot that wants to have sex with a drunk girl.

There are 2 guys featured in this video. One is a hero…the other is a loser. You know which is which. http://t.co/CcU67PcytU
