MLK III: Trayvon Martin proof ‘color of skin license to murder’

At a rally commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech Saturday, his son and namesake stated categorically that Trayvon Martin was shot and killed by George Zimmerman because of the color of Martin’s skin.

“Sadly, the tears of Trayvon Martin’s mother and father remind us that far too frequently the color of one’s skin remains a license to profile, arrest, and to even murder with no regard to the content of one’s character,” Martin Luther King III claimed.

After injecting race into the event to honor his father, MLK III politicized it.

“Regressive ‘stand your ground’ laws must be repealed,” he asserted.

Not only was Zimmerman found not guilty of murder in the self-defense shooting death of Martin by a Florida jury, but Department of Justice investigators found no evidence that race entered into the incident, according to Breitbart News.

Furthermore, Florida’s “stand your ground” law has been found to disproportionately favor blacks.
