Rodeo clown dons Obama mask, liberal world implodes

Obama-Rodeo clownIt appears some rodeo folks in Missouri have kicked up quite a stir over a rodeo performer impersonating the president of the United States.

All the fuss is over a rodeo clown who donned a mask resembling President Obama during a bull riding competition Saturday in Sedalia, Mo., according to the Kansas City Star.

For the record, these individuals are tasked with the protection of riders thrown from a bull and with providing comic relief during an event.

As can be expected in this gilded age of Obama, where the slightest criticism of the man sends his supporters into a frenzy, the left immediately took umbrage as if such a thing had never occurred before.

Except that a similar incident did occur once in 1994 when a dummy wearing a President George H.W. Bush mask, propped up by a broomstick, was employed as a decoy during a bull riding riding contest, as reported by the web site Fire Andrea Mitchell.

Saturday’s incident was originally posted on a progressive left web site by an apparent Obama supporter who was in the audience:

The announcer wanted to know if anyone would like to see Obama run down by a bull. The crowd went wild. He asked it again and again, louder each time, whipping the audience into a lather. One of the clowns ran up and started bobbling the lips on the mask and the people went crazy.

Finally, a bull came close enough to him that he had to move, so he jumped up and ran away to the delight of the onlookers hooting and hollering from the stands.

The author noted how he and his Taiwanese friend “then left quickly and quietly [and] rode the sixty miles home in silence.”

The fallout was swift, with Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon’s press secretary stating, “The governor agrees that the performance was disrespectful and offensive, and does not reflect the values of Missourians or the State Fair.”

And Democratic U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill turned to Twitter to call the incident “shameful.”

Fair organizers quickly bowed to the political pressure, issuing a statement that said, as reported by the Star: “The performance by one of the rodeo clowns at Saturday’s event was inappropriate and disrespectful, and does not reflect the opinions or standards of the Missouri State Fair.”

Naturally, the race card was played by some zealots, who even managed to blame the tea party. But then, this is the gilded age of Obama.
