Pro-Obamacare events: ‘I’ve seen bigger crowds watch grass grow!’

Organizing for Action is facing an uphill battle in convincing a skeptical public of the advantages of a health care system that costs more, results in rationing and may mean finding new physicians and insurance carriers.

The Obama administration’s one-year delay of Obamacare’s employer mandate did little to bolster confidence in the president’s signature health care bill — its popularity continues to tank like the stock market in 1929.

Organizing for Action’s campaign to bolster support for the bill during the August congressional recess got off to a rocky start in Centreville, Va. when only a few people showed up at its meeting — and all but one left before it got underway, according to Politico.

Politico noted that although other such meetings received better attendance:

in some ways, this suburban community 20 miles from Washington, D.C., captures the national ambivalence about the health law. Centreville is perched on the edge of two congressional districts, a red one represented by Rep. Frank Wolf — an ardent Republican opponent of Obamacare — and a blue one by Rep. Gerry Connolly, one of the health law’s Democratic champions.

The poor attendance at Centreville’s Obamacare event wasn’t lost on the the conservative contingent of the Twitterverse. After all, the Virginia chapter of Organizing for Action even advertised the fact in their own tweet:

They started off with introductions? Was that supposed to be a joke? I’ll let that one pass and allow others to chime in. Most, Like Sean O, were simply dumbfounded:

But Bilford Wrimley’s observation was by far my favorite:
