It’s no secret that U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., has angered Republicans all over the country for some time. But now, even his home state of South Carolina may have had enough. Graham will likely face a challenger in next year’s primary.

Billed as the tea party favorite, Nancy Mace is expected to officially announce on Saturday that she will run against Graham in 2014, according to her website:

I am looking forward to a special announcement this Saturday in my home town of Goose Creek, S.C. Please join us at 9:00am at the Berkeley County GOP Breakfast at the American Legion Post, 116 Howe Hall Road.

Daughter of retired Army Brigadier General Emory Mace, Nancy Mace is the first woman to graduate from The Citadel, the military college of South Carolina.

Today she is a wife, mother and small business owner.

She authored In the Company of Men: A Woman at The Citadel in 2001, published by Simon and Schuster.

Nancy Mace familyA public relations and marketing professional from Charleston, Mace holds a master’s degree in mass communication and journalism, and a Bachelor of Science in business. She is a contributor to multiple national media outlets such as The Hill and The Daily Caller, making her ability to get national media attention dangerous to Graham.

Mace, who has been moving toward the decision to run for office, told TheLibertyPaper.org in April:

“I believe we need a credible candidate who can challenge Graham. Someone who can bring together the liberty movement, the tea party, those who covet our second Amendment rights and the right to life, those who want to see greater economic freedom and prosperity brought to our nation through individual liberty and the free market.

“We need someone who believes in constitutional principles. We need someone who will not believe increasing taxes are suitable while ignoring out of control spending. What we are doing in Washington today is clearly not working. I am flattered by all of the attention. This is David vs. Goliath and it will take conservatives from across the movement to be successful.”

Popular in the liberty movement and the tea party, Mace has been working with advisers to gain support of super PACs, according to LibertyPaper.org.

Graham has been targeted by multiple Washington, D.C., organizations like Heritage Action, Club for Growth and Senate Conservative Fund, according to BenSwann.com.
