The accused Fort Hood terrorist who killed 13 in an act labeled “workplace violence” by the government, apologized to Allah Friday and asked his forgiveness for participating in the U.S. military’s “war on Islam.”
Major Nidal Hasan issued a six-page statement to Fox News where he claimed the military is at war with his religion and he regrets his service as an Army psychiatrist.
According to the Fox report, Hasan’s statement, “believed to be the first lengthy statement by the Fort Hood suspect,” read in part:
In the name of Almighty Allah, the most gracious and the most merciful, my name is Nidal Hasan, Major Nidal Hasan, and I would like to convey a message to the world.
I would like to begin by repenting to Almighty Allah and apologize to the (Mujahideen), the believers, and the innocent. I ask for their forgiveness and their prayers. I ask for their forgiveness for participating in the illegal and immoral aggression against Muslims, their religion and their lands
My complicity was on behalf of a government that openly acknowledges that it would hate for the law of Almighty Allah to be the supreme law of the land.
“I have all along believed Nidal Hasan to be a Muslim terrorist, so it confirms what I’ve always thought,” George Stratton, father of one of the injured in the terrorist attack at the base in 2009, told Fox News. “I believe that’s exactly how he felt when he did what he did. We should take him at his word.”
Also reacting to Hasan’s statement was attorney Neal Sher who represents several of the “shooting victims and their families in a separate legal action,” the report said.
“This is yet further confirmation of a fact that everyone knows except our government. That is, the Fort Hood shooting was a terrorist jihadi attack,” Sher said.
In his statement, Hasan never acknowledged the 13 people killed and dozens of others injured in his terroristic rampage that the military and Obama administration, to this day, call an incident of workplace violence. A designation that denies survivors a chance to receive a Purple Heart.
Hasan faces death or life in prison if convicted at his court martial set to begin on August 6.
