On the Tuesday segment of CNN Newsroom, it was revealed that a potential black juror was excused by the prosecution in a peremptory challenge — because he was a Fox News viewer.
Host Carol Costello asked her guests about the all-white makeup of the jury. After some discussion about the nearly all-white population of the county, she noted, “Although if I remember correctly one of the prosecutors struck a black, a potential black juror from the jury.”
“Yeah, he was also, I was just, he was also a Fox News watcher. So that was, you know, problematic for the prosecution,” was the reply.
