As talk radio titan Rush Limbaugh said on Friday’s show, “What in the name of Sam Hill…?”
The latest installment of the Bush-Clinton saga that has come to dominate American politics for the better part of two decades finds former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush awarding former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with the 2013 Liberty Medal.
The potential frontrunners in the 2016 presidential election come together on Sept. 10 as Bush presents Clinton with the award at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia to honor her lifelong career in public service and her ongoing advocacy efforts on behalf of women and girls around the globe.
The event is taking place one day shy of the one year anniversary of the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi that left four Americans dead, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. Then again, as Clinton might say, what difference does it make?
“Former Secretary Clinton has dedicated her life to serving and engaging people across the world in democracy,” Bush said in a news release issued by the National Constitution Center. “These efforts as a citizen, an activist, and a leader have earned Secretary Clinton this year’s Liberty Medal.”
As El Rushbo sums it up: “This is the kind of stuff that causes my friend I was talking about […] to think the Republican Party has been infiltrated.”
