Bring home Bowe Bergdahl has been the call of Americans since his capture in Afghanistan by the Taliban in June 2009.
On Thursday, the Taliban offered a prisoner exchange with the U.S.: They would release Bergdahl in exchange for five of the highest-level Taliban detainees being held in Guantanamo Bay.
During Friday’s “Fox & Friends,” Brian Kilmeade and Geraldo Rivera got into a heated exchange over the Taliban’s offer.
“I would trade every detainee in Gitmo” to bring Bowe home, Rivera said. “I would definitely make the deal.
Kilmeade expressed concern about releasing five senior Taliban officials who could potentially “come back and kill more Americans,” he said.
Kilmeade also touched on what would be the future policy of negotiating with terrorists on prisoner exchanges if the U.S. agreed to this exchange.
“This is a deal you make, this is war,” Rivera said.
