Much like in the critical days leading up to the passage of Obamacare, a full press is now underway to force immigration reform through Congress. The key difference being that the Republicans are doing most of the pushing.
U.S. Sen. John McCain showed just how critical immigration reform is to GOP leadership Thursday when he blasted his Republicans colleagues on the floor of the Senate for failing to support the “Gang of 8″ bill.
While pounding on the lectern, McCain proclaimed:
“We tried before and we failed. And, I won’t go into why we failed on all the people who were responsible. I’ll take responsibility. I didn’t do a good enough job in selling my colleagues on the absolute need for immigration reform.
The facts are that 11 million people live in the shadows. And they live here in de facto amnesty and by God they are being exploited every single day.”
Never mind that the overwhelming majority of these 11 million “people,” a.k.a. illegal immigrants, came to America on his watch, as a result of government failing to enforce our immigration laws.
