Miami Heat’s little good luck charm belts out ‘Star Spangled Banner’

Julia DalePint-sized 12-year old Julia Dale may be short in stature, but when she sang our national anthem at the start of the Miami Heat — San Antonio Spurs game in Sunday night’s game two of the NBA finals, she upstaged each of the six-foot plus players.

Dale, a South Florida resident, has been a mainstay at Miami Heat and Florida Marlins games since she was 10, but she made her national debut in Sunday’s game.

“I’m so honored to have this opportunity,” Julia said today on “Good Morning America.”  “I love to sing.  It’s what I love to do.  It’s who I am, and I’m so honored to be able to have this opportunity to be able to sing for an amazing team like the Heat.”

The Miami Herald noted that little Julia appears to be a good lick charm for the Heat. Their win-loss record when she sings is 18-2.

When asked if she was part of the Heat family she replied, “I would like to think of myself like that. All the staff, as I’m walking down to the court, they’re like, ‘Hi Julia.’  They all know me, and I’m so honored.  It’s like a dream come true.”
