Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh discussed the issue of privacy Thursday, in light of the discovery that the NSA was collecting telephone data from everyone. He concluded that “the only people having any privacy left are women who are going to have abortions.”
“So the IRS has our tax records,” Limbaugh began. “They are soon going to be having our medical records, and guess what else? The police can now take our DNA after an arrest.”
He noted that the “NSA has your phone records” and “Obama now knows what political organizations you belong to,” and later noted that “Democrats demand that you belong to a national gun registry.”
“Obama drones can now see where you are in your own homes and can shoot you,” he said.
Limbaugh concluded, “About the only people having any privacy left are women who are going to have abortions, thanks to Roe vs, Wade.”
Meanwhile, president Obama defended NSA’s surveillance of all the telephones, bank accounts, emails and Internet usage as the “right balance” in a Friday press announcement, and dismissed criticism of the program as mere “hype.”
Whew! That’s a relief! For a while there, I thought the Fourth Amendment was important.
