Ingraham to Rubio: Drop immigration, ‘stop dividing the Republican Party’

Conservative commentator Laura Ingraham gently told U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio that the American people are looking to him for leadership and asked him to please “stop dividing the Republican Party” on the immigration issue.

Appearing on “Fox and Friends” Tuesday morning, Ingraham told Rubio her radio listeners believe that Rubio and other lawmakers should forget pushing immigration reform and be focusing on “jobs, the economy and raising the middle class lifestyle and the wages here in this country before we start tackling an issue with this comprehensive approach.”

When Rubio said immigration is an economic issue, Ingraham told him, “Then do that separately.”
