Debbie Schlussel massacres threats to silence her in ‘Starbucks Jihad’ case

A California attorney is telling conservative blogger Debbie Schlussel to shut up – and threatening her to boot.

You’d have to cut her tongue out.

Schlussel, an outspoken – really outspoken – critic of Islam and in particular the kid gloves the American media and law enforcement
treat it with, broke the news about the latest brouhaha in a blog post Monday.

In the post, Schlussel recounted how an attorney for an Iranian woman who faced attempted murder charges in connection with alcohol-tainted orange juice in a California Starbucks had written her to demand Schlussel retract her statements about the case.

Among other things the attorney cited, Schlussel wrote that stores worried about their food being poisoned on the shelves by terrorists bent on jihad would have it much “easier if they just eyeballed ‘customers’ from Iran and other such paradise-esque vacation spots that have in common the dominance of the Religion of Tsarnaevs.”

Attorney Peter Shearer, of the San Mateo, Calif., law firm of Pierce and Shearer, didn’t like that line. Or much else Schlussel has to say.

In a “cease and desist” letter, Shearer demanded on behalf of the woman a “prompt, full and clear retraction” of Schlussel’s statements.

Fat chance.

Or, as Schlussel might say, fat bleeping chance.

“Your client was arrested by police on suspicion of attempted murder, and the authorities said the bottles had possibly lethal doses of them rubbing alcohol in them, pursuant to a mass spectrometer test they performed. And yet YOU have the utter chutzpah to threaten ME and demand that I not write about your client’s reported attempt to kill innocent people?! Are you bleeping kidding?”

And Schlussel, an attorney herself, was just getting wound up.

“Here’s a tip: This is the United States of America, where we still have a First Amendment, which protects my right to speech, including and especially speech about the jihad which your client may have attempted to pull off … Please remind your client – and the imbecile in the mirror (yes, you) that this is NOT Iran and neither she nor you, her hired putz, will silence me. Ever …

“I will not retract a single thing. Go to hell, buddy.”

The First Amendment was written for people like Debbie Schlussel.
