Are you satisfied with Obama’s America? Gallup asks

Only about one out of four Americans polled – 24 percent — are happy with the state of the country, according to a new Gallup poll.

Surprised it’s so high?

Here’s a hint: The most satisfied by far are Democrats, the poll found.

bprsatisfiedpoll5-15According to Gallup, the Democratic satisfaction rate is 37 percent, down from 48 percent at this point last month.

Republicans, on the other hand, showed a dismal 9 percent satisfaction rate with the way things are going – which probably sounds a little more realistic.

(You can check out the poll results here.)

It’s important to note, though, that the results reflect polling from May 2 to May 7, before the Benghazi hearings were on television, before the IRS’s political targeting of conservative PACs was in the news again, and before the Justice Department’s snooping on press phone records became public.

It would be interesting to see if Democratic satisfaction – at least outside of Associated Press offices in New York and D.C. – was still as high as 37.

It would also be interesting to know who those 9 percent of satisfied Republicans are and where Gallup managed to find them.

If you have any ideas – or if you’re one of them — let us know.
