In an appearance Saturday on “Fox News Watch,” political consultant and media commentator Richard Grenell notes that when it comes to Benghazi, “the media’s becoming the story.”

“CBS News President David Rhodes and ABC News President Ben Sherwood, both of them have siblings that not only work at the White House, that not only work for President Obama, but they work at the National Security Council on foreign policy issues directly related to Benghazi.”

Grenell also shares that CNN deputy bureau chief, Virginia Moseley, is married to Hillary Clinton’s deputy, Tom Nides.

“It is time for the media to start asking questions why are they not covering this,” he said. “It’s a family matter for some of them.”

Host Jon Scott asked if the media wants to avoid bringing embarrassment upon folks who they’re close to, Grenell responded: “Absolutely. They’re covering for them. There’s no question about it.”

As NewsBusters reports, Sherwood’s sister, Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, is a Special Assistant to President Obama and Rhodes’ brother, Ben Rhodes, is Obama’s Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communication.

Ben Rhodes played a key role in revising the White House’s Benghazi talking points, when all references to al Qaeda and to the security warnings prior to the attack where deleted, according to ABC News.
