Poll: Does anyone stand out as the next GOP presidential candidate for 2016?

Believe it or not, another presidential season is fast approaching. Really — I’m not kidding!

Remember the endearing video of Abbie last year? She was the little girl who was sick of politics and “tired of Bronco Bama and Mitt Romney” in the latter days of the 2008 presidential campaign.

Her mom said it would be over soon, and it was, but I have a feeling that before long Abbie will be repeating the words of another little girl — the one in “Poltergeist” who announced, “It’s ba-a-ack.”

Things appear to be set on the Democratic side — just ask House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who “prays that Hillary Clinton” runs in 2016, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. “Nobody has been first lady and senator and now secretary of state,” the Gazette quoted her as saying. “Putting everything aside that she is a woman, she’d be the best qualified person that we’ve seen [in recent years].”

But while Hillary may be the new “one,” to replace “The One,” there’s a long line of Republican hopefuls waiting in the wings. Sens. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have all been in the news lately on issues such as immigration and gun control. Then there are those with proven executive experience such as Govs. Bobby Jindal, Jeb Bush, Chris Christie and of course, Sarah Palin. Finally we have fiscal conservative and budgetary guru Rep. Paul Ryan and social conservative figurehead and former Sen. Rick Santorum.

So what do you think? We know it’s still way early in the game, but if you had to make a decision today, who would it be?
