One’s religious faith has always been considered a personal matter. The military is now taking the personal nature of faith to extremes by threatening those who share their beliefs with others with punishment including court martial.
Rabid anti-Christian Mikey Weinstein was recently appointed as a Pentagon consultant to develop new policies on religious tolerance, according to Breitbart News. His appointment is an odd one. Although Weinstein founded the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, he seems to know little about either religion or tolerance. He recently wrote in The Huffington Post:
Today, we face incredibly well-funded gangs of fundamentalist Christian monsters who terrorize their fellow Americans by forcing their weaponized and twisted version of Christianity upon their helpless subordinates in our nation’s armed forces.
It all comes down to how one defines “religious proselytization.” Weinstein, as well as other Obama appointees, would consider any exchange of religious beliefs “proselytization” punishable by court martial even by a chaplain. This, of course, is what a chaplain is for — to offer religious guidance.
The hosts of Fox and Friends broached the subject of the Pentagon’s plans Wednesday morning with retired Gen. Jerry Boykin. He offered:
I think they’ve got their definitions a little confused. If you’re talking about coercion that’s one thing, but if you’re talking about the free exercise of our faith as individual soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, especially for the chaplains, they I think the worst thing we can do is stop the ability for a soldier to be able to exercise his faith.
Over the last few decades we’ve witnessed “freedom of religion” be redefined as “freedom from religion.” The military has always been immune to such silliness — until now.
