FBI informant in Miami: The Taliban are here

A South Florida man who worked as an undercover FBI informant in the war on terror said “Talibans are walking freely right here in the soil of America right now, right now.”

David Mahmood Siddiqui immigrated to America from Pakistan as a young man and proudly served in the U.S. Army. Years later, he served above and beyond the call of duty by agreeing to wear a wire while going undercover to infiltrate jihadists living in the Miami area, according to CBS4-Miami.

Saddiqui’s work as a confidential informant resulted a recent conviction against 77-year-old Muslim cleric Hafiz Muhammed Sher Ali Khan, who was found guilty of supporting terrorism following a 29-day trial.

While wearing a wire during conversations with Ali Khan, the former head of the Miami’s oldest mosque, Saddiqui posed as a Taliban sympathizer and recorded incriminating statements from the cleric. Those statements, coupled with Saddiqui’s testimony led to the cleric’s conviction.

But he insists the danger isn’t over for the United States.

“They can commit a jihad at anytime,” he said. “They hate America, they hate America, you have an enemy living here in American soil, do not know when they will take action to kill innocent Americans.”
