We’re all wrong about Cuba, Geraldo praises Jay-Z

There was nothing humorous, let alone sane, in Geraldo Rivera’s analysis of the controversy surrounding Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s trip to Cuba.

Appearing on “Fox & Friends” Friday morning, Rivera pooh-poohed all the critics and criticisms of the stars’ anniversary trip to the communist regime last week.

“Jay-Z and Beyoncé showed the good life to millions of Cubans who will envy America as a result,” Rivera said, proving he has completely lost his mind. “It was a harmless trip and the reaction was way over the top.”

He continued, making me sick with his commentary:

I believe that the response of Sen. Marco Rubio, who I like, to compare this virtually – this trip, this tourist trip – to terrorism was way over the top. It is way past time for us to reassess our relationship with Cuba.

We’ve made friends with communist China. We do business with them. Vietnam, we lost 50,000 soldiers and we have normal relations

Hey, Geraldo: “Tourist” trips to communist Cuba are still banned.

Recall Rubio’s statement from Monday:

U.S. law clearly bans tourism to Cuba by American citizens because it provides money to a cruel, repressive and murderous regime.  Since their inception, the Obama Administration’s ‘people to people’ cultural exchange programs have been abused by tourists who have no interest in the Cuban people’s freedom and either don’t realize or don’t care that they’re essentially funding the regime’s systematic trampling of people’s human rights.
