U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), a top pick for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, addressed the gathering Thursday at Conservative Political Action Conference-2013.
Sharing his unique take on the American dream, Rubio spoke on a wide range of issues from the national debt to student loans and was well received.
After being cheered for taking a drink of water, Rubio paused and said, “never in the history of the world has water been so popular.”
Rubio closed out by saying the left would criticize him as soon as he finished speaking, saying “he drank too much water” and he “didn’t offered any new ideas,” then drew a standing ovation when he reminded attendees that “we don’t need a new idea, there is an idea, the idea is called America and it still works.”
