Fort Hood hero police Sgt. Kimberly Munley said she feels “betrayed” by President Obama for failing to take care of her and other victims from that tragic shooting three years ago.
A compelling segment from Tuesday’s ABC’s “Nightline” documents the neglect in treatment, benefits and honors Munley and the others face after the military classified the Fort Hood shooting as “workplace violence” instead of “combat-related or terrorism.”
Munley was shot three times by suspected gunman Maj. Nidal Hasan. Thirteen people were killed and 32 injured by a man witnesses said yelled “Allahu Akbar” as he shot soldiers and civilians, the ABC report said.
Munley and her partner, Sgt. Mark Todd, are credited with ultimately taking Hasan down, but they have been denied medical care, financial assistance and even a Purple Heart for their heroic actions at Fort Hood.
“Not to the least little bit have the victims been taken care of,” Munley said in the report. “In fact, they’ve been neglected.”
