Hackers in Great Falls, Mont., interrupted a local CBS affiliate broadcast to warn of a zombie invasion in several area counties.
The Great Falls Tribune reported that during regular Monday afternoon KRTV programming, the station’s emergency alert system went off with a scrolling ticker across the top announcing “that the bodies of the dead are rising from their graves and attacking the living.”
“Do not attempt to approach or apprehend these bodies as they are extremely dangerous,” viewers were warned.
Now, even more comical to me than the harmless hoax is the report from the Great Falls Police Department, which said it took four phone calls from viewers asking if the news was true.
Seriously, people. Have you learned nothing from the many zombie apocalypse movies? The police are not going to be able to help you when the zombies invade.
