World watches baby eagles being hatched

The Pritchett family of North Fort Myers, Florida has made international news this past week with their live webcam showing two baby bald eagles being hatched to proud parents, “Ozzie and Harriet.”  The first baby hatched on New Year’s Day and the second on Jan. 3.

Ozzie and Harriet’s nest has been on the Pritchett’s business property for five years, but this year, the family put a video camera with night vision capability on the nest to share the eaglet hatchings with the world. And share they have! Since the installation of the webcam, more than 2.7 million viewers around the world have tuned in to watch the live streaming and “at least 6,000 people are watching at any given moment,” reported News Press.

Viewers are now able to watch the eaglets being fed, groomed, and someday, will see them learn to fly.
